Tite Karela kotarkari (Oil-free Bitter Gourd Curry)
Ingredients
- ½ kg bitter gourd
- 2 tsp cumin/coriander powder
- 100 gm onion paste
- 100 gm tomato paste
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp turmeric
- Dry red chili pieces
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
Instructions
- Barbeque the whole gourd directly over the flame.
- Clean the gourd water and remove the scales. Slice it.
- Chop the tomatoes and onion.
- Heat the pan, and put in some whole cumin and methi, dry chilies, and let them brown.
- Put in the onion paste, tomato paste/pieces, salt, the masalas, mix and cook for a while. Pour in some water to prevent the Ingredients from sticking to the bottom
- Add the cooked gourd when the masala mixture is ready, and cook for 5-10 minutes on low heat with the cover on
- Ready to serve.
