Peas Pulao
Ingredients
- 2 onion sliced
- ½ tsp grated ginger
- 4-5 cardamoms
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 cups fine rice washed and drained
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- 6 cups boiling water
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup peas fresh or frozen
- Oil
Instructions
- Heat a little bit of oil. Add the onions with grated garlic and whole spices. Add rice and cumin powder.
- Add the boiling water and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and add peas. Reduce heat and cook in a covered pan until the water is reduced by half.
- Once all the water is absorbed, the rice is cooked and tender. Garnish with the onion, which has been fried brown and crispy.
