Peas Pulao

Ingredients

  • 2 onion sliced
  • ½ tsp grated ginger
  • 4-5 cardamoms
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cups fine rice washed and drained
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup peas fresh or frozen
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Heat a little bit of oil. Add the onions with grated garlic and whole spices. Add rice and cumin powder.
  • Add the boiling water and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and add peas. Reduce heat and cook in a covered pan until the water is reduced by half.
  • Once all the water is absorbed, the rice is cooked and tender. Garnish with the onion, which has been fried brown and crispy.
