Patra ni Macchi (Pomfret Wrapped in banana leaves)

Ingredients

  • Pomfret
  • ½ cup ground coconut
  • ½ tsp each of ground ginger garlic, chili, cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp ground coriander leaves
  • Bit of lemon juice
  • Sugar and salt to taste

Instructions

  • Mix all Ingredients together and adjust taste to make the chutney.
  • Cut the pomfret through the bone and make 4 slices, each ¾” thick.
  • Coat properly with the coconut chutney and place each piece separately in the banana leaf. Tie with thread and steam for 10-15 minutes, or till cooked.
  • Remove from banana leaves and serve.
