Khara Masala Gosht

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton or beef
  • ½ kg onions thickly sliced
  • 2 ” pc ginger cut
  • 10 cloves garlic thick
  • ¼ kg tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds coarsely grounded
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 4 cardamoms
  • 4 cloves
  • 10 red chilies long, dry
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Mix all Ingredients together in a pan – you can use your hand or a big spoon. Put the pan on the stove on medium heat and let it cook. If you are using a pressure cooker, 5 whistles should be enough. You can check the meat: if still not tender, put it back on the stove.
  • When done, serve with fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chilies as garnish.
