Juicy, spiced mutton chops pressure-cooked and shallow-fried.
Mutton Chops
Ingredients
- 500 g mutton chops
- ½ cup yoghurt
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tbsp black pepper powder
- ½ tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp oil plus extra for shallow frying
Instructions
- Marinate and cook:In a pressure cooker, combine the mutton chops, yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, black pepper powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, salt, and 2 tbsp of oil. Mix everything well.
- Pressure cook: Add 1 cup of water. Cover and pressure cooker on low heat for about 30 minutes.Once the pressure releases, check if the meat is tender. If needed, cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Shallow fry: Heat a little oil in a pan. Shallow fry the cooked mutton chops on both sides until golden and slightly charred.You can pour in the leftover cooking liquid (yakhni) during the frying stage to add extra flavour.
- Serve:Serve hot with lemon wedges, naan, or rice.
